upgrading samba
I have a Red Hat 7.3 with samba 2.2.3 perfect working.
I've upgrade it to 2.2.8 without first stop the service smb, but making the upgrade when the server was running. This is the message error that output: [root@localhost ciao]# rpm -F samba-2.2.8a-1.i386.rpm warning: /etc/samba/smb.conf created as /etc/samba/smb.conf.rpmnew Looking for old /etc/smb.conf... Looking for old /etc/smbusers... Looking for old /etc/lmhosts... Looking for old /etc/MACHINE.SID... Looking for old /etc/smbpasswd... Moving tdb files in /var/lock/samba/*.tdb to /var/cache/samba/*.tdb Installing stack version of /etc/pam.d/samba... error: execution of %postun scriptlet from samba-2.2.3a-6 failed, exit status 1 it's really compromised the installation? Because, now, the service run ok. Is samba became instable? how can I do to have a stable samba server? Thanks a lot, Roberto. |
did u just try stopping the service and re-installing, also you didnt really do an upgrade, i see no -U flag in your rpm command.
