Upgrade from RH 6 to 7.2

:jawa:

Goodness. A while ago when times were good I got into the world of RedHat with version 6 and installed it onto a Compaq server. The server had Sendmail 8.9.3, Qpopper 3.0 and Apache 1.3.6 as it's main role in life. After numerous security breaches I decided to upgrade to Red Hat Linux 7.2 (enigma) and I have had one head ache after another.

My first question, although probably a no, is it possible to go back to Red Hat 6 and save all of the users and their e-mails?

If not, is their a place I can get some information on upgrading to sendmail 8.12.3 from my version?

The server is currently "running" Red Hat 7.2, Sendmail 8.9.3, Qpopper 4.0 and Apache (httpd 2.0.35). Thanks for your help!

More than I wanted to know.

Problems are solved, but I guess the greatest problem I was having was my lack of understanding of the linux system. After many, many hours of reading, understanding and doing the wrong thing I finally began to make headway into my problem and deal with my server. I could not have done this wihtout the knowledge here at linuxquestions.org and I am greatly appreciative.

One final question, if anyone does ever read this, is if I had Red Hat Linux 6.2 installed and I installed Red Hat 7.2 (not the upgrade) over the current installation without and reformatting, would the user accounts still be present? Just curious, and thanks for looking
