Updating DNS A record
 
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to make a linux (redhat) machine update it's dns A record on a windows 2000/2003 dns server? I am looking for a command here, not having to install Bind, etc.

Let me make sure that I understand what your trying to say. If your talking about having a machine dynamically update its DNS A records in Active Directory, I dont think thats possible. Am I understanding you correctl?

Yes that is what I am saying. I had researched it and couldn't find a way to do it. It was just a shot that someone might have the answer.
