Question unable to unmount samba

Hi...,

I use the suse-9.1 version of linux....i have configured the samba and it works fine(thanks to the many mails i found in this forum!!!).... but now my problem is after mounting into samba I am unable to unmount it...!!1

I tried rightclicking on the mount, where it show option to unmount-but when i do that it shows "an error occurred" . And then i tried unmounting from prompt with command umount -t smbfs /home/smb4k/... but it shows "device is busy". I made sure that all konqueror windows that were browsing the particular mount was closed..(infact i closed all browsing windows!!) but still it gives the same "device is busy" message!! ...I dont know...pls help me with any information that you think wouldbe helpful...(by the way i am not an expert in linux so pls be easy on your explanations!!! )

Thanks a dozen!!!

hi there
after u r sure that u have closed alll the open pages .
u can process towrds killing the process that is still holding ur share

df
will give u the list of shares

like i have this share mounted and it is listed as

//192.168.0.26/shareddocs /mnt/c

so if i am not able to umount this i run this to get the pid of process blocking that share

lsof /mnt/c

then i can look into what is blocking that share
and kill that pid

also to staightway kill the process/processes blocking that share

fuser -k /mnt/c
this will free my share
and i can proceed to umount that

regards
