unable to open socket for inet6
That is one of the messages I get when trying to access the internet from my slackware box.
The error messages says (to lazy to copy of the other screen, cutting it down a bit): 1. "unable to open socket for inet6" 2. "Transport failed for inet6" 3. "failed to open listener for inet6" How do I solve this? I havn't got a clue cuz' I'm not exactlly a wizard on networking... |
You have probably enabled version 6 of TCP/IP - this is the next big thing that might happen to the net very soon, but for now there are not that many IPv6 compliant nodes and networks around the *net yet.
P.S. A little correction there are many IPv6 compliant net/nodes, but not that many are implemented and deployed yet. |
And how do I set the system to use the previous version of it?
