Unable to connect to internet via ethernet

Hi... I am using a Toshiba A215 laptop. I removed the Vista from it and installed Mandriva. My wireless Atheros works fine, but not my Realtek ethernet connection. It was working fine when it was on Vista.

Now when I start my Mandriva, I get an IP address from the DHCP server in the office & even a hostname, but beyond that there is nothing.
I checked with the admins here whether they are blocking anything, but no.
I have disabled all the firewalls, but still no success.

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks...

Could you be more specific? Start a web browser and try these URLs:

164.214.2.59
www.nima.mil

These are actually the same location. Can you access the site by either address?

Nope....
Neither the IP nor the URL works.

I can't even ping any other machine in the same network, not even the gateway.
