Ubuntu does not recognize my Ethernet controller
Hello all,
I installed Ubuntu and when the process was done I was was connected to the internet and was able to surf the web. But after restarting, the connection has gone and my Ethernet card is not recognized anymore. Should I re-install the driver? how do I do that? (It's a Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller) TIA. Amots |
Did you try a lspci to see if the device is on the pci buss?

See results of ifconfig
See this also. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NetworkDevices https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InternetAndNetworking Some older stuff https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/serverg...iguration.html There are basically three ways ubuntu can use a nic. One is native drivers, two is you add in linux drivers, three is you can use windows drivers in some cases. In all of them you may have to configure settings. |
