Two NICs sharing an Internet connection, is it possible to set a filter?

I'm using an old PC with 2 NICs:
  • One for Internet access.
  • The other to assign fixed IP addresses (based on the MAC address) and share the Internet connection.
If possible, I want to restrict the internet access to some users, allow navigation of some pages using a White List to others (using domains like redhat.com or fedoranews.org) and have one or two PCs with no restrictions at all.

Anyone knows if this is possible using the packages included in Fedora Core 5?.

Thank you for your time.

hi,
Don't know about the packages of Fedora Core, but surely you can do it by configuring "Shorewall".

regards

Great!

After days of testing I found Shorewall very useful for this task and it is available in the Fedora Extras Repository, I was unable to limit the access to certain webpages but the possible solution may be to use a proxy server like Squid or Privoxy, so I'll be busy testing both in the following days.

Thank you for your reply.
