two ethernet connection to double the bandwidth

Hi all.

Just want to ask is it possible to use multiple ethernet connection to speed up internet connection?

Description of problem :
I am behind a proxy server which limit my connection speed for just 30Kb/s. I'm connected to the network via utp cable. There is plenty unused utp cable there. How if i add another ethernet adapter and connect it via another utp cable. So i have two working ethernet adapter, lets say eth0 and eth1.

Question:
1. Does this configuration automatically double up the connection, or i need to configure it? If so how to configure it?

2. How to divide the connection. Lets say i'm browsing the internet using mozilla. I want to set up the mozilla to get the connection via eth0. In the mean time I download something using wget. I want to setup wget to get the connection over eth1. Is it possible?

Pardon my bad english, and thanks in advance.

You can combine them using "bonding". Essentially you slave both the NICs (eth0 & eth1 for example) to a bond0 device. You can set the mode to do round robin or agregation though the latter requires changes on the switch as well.

A Google search for linux bonding will give you plenty of information. You probably also want to specify which distro you're using as networking is done slightly differently on various distros.
