tun bridge to VirtualBox on debian etch

I've got a box running Debian etch with kernel 2.6.18-3-686, and I'm trying to find out how to make a tun device to bridge eth1 to my VirtualBox windows xp emulation. I know I have tun compiled as a module, because I can modprobe it. However, when I follow the instructions on page 41 of http://virtualbox.org/download/UserManual.pdf and type the command "tunct1 -t tap1 -u <username>", it says the command is not found. I searched Google, LQ and even tldp.org, but it seems that the problem everyone is having is past this point. So could someone point me to the corresponding documentation so I can figure out what I am doing wrong?

Is it TUNCTL with an L (you typed a "one" above)?

When I first started this I tried both, due to the similarity between those two characters. Nether commands currently exist on my system.

It should live in /usr/sbin as tunctl (with an L). It's part of the uml-utilities package.

The uml-utilities package is what I needed. Thank you for the help.

apt-file is your friend.
