Network Adapter: Intel(R) Pro/100 VE Network Connection Connection
Router: 2Wire 1701HG Gateway (modem and router)
ISP: Yahoo! SBC DSL
I have read many documents over and over. On windows my connection is detected automatically (DHCP). I can't seem to get a network connection with linux though. I don't know what to do. Has anyone had any luck with the same router/ISP? They don't seem to work with linux according to what they say. Please help. Thanks
Have you tried assigning your Linux machine a static IP address with the same network scheme as the router, and the router as the gateway and DNS server? If your Linux machine isn't getting a DHCP address from the router, this may be a good alternative if you have a small network.
still had trouble. ill just keep testing until i find it (probably not) but oh well. by the way here are the screenshots if this helps. tried using a static IP
