traffic managment


I do have DSL 128 KBPS in my cafe now the thing is like that

i like to share total 128 KBPS

100 to a range of ips 10.1.1.1 - 10.1.1.10

and rest of 28 for 10.1.1.11

linux 7.2 installed so please let me know how can i do it

I assume you mean you have Red hat 7.2. If this is so, you may have to patch your kernel with tc and HTB support, thats part of the iproute2 package. Once this is done, you can create a very flexible ruleset that can shape both upstream and downstream bandwidth for machines that connect through the linux box. (only upstream for the linux machine itself). If you need further help setting up the rules, go to docum.org there is a lot of documentation about traffic shaping there, and why HTB is much better than CBQ. I've used it myself and have wonderful results. You can also visit lartc.org for general traffic shaping info.
