Throughput Test between two CentOS machines?

I have two CentOS machines on opposite sides of a leased line. So far my testing from a windows host (using Roadkill's Commtest) indicates we are getting way less than our supposed subscription link throughput. I have not been able to find a package that will allow me to test the capacity of the link between these two CentOS hosts, which I would consider a more definitive test.

uname -r
2.6.9-55.0.2.ELsmp

Is there maybe a script out there or something to use for this function?

Thanks.

I known 2 programs that can help you:

1) nttcp - new test TCP program - http://home.leo.org/~elmar/nttcp
2) iptraf - http://iptraf.seul.org/

both programs has a server side that you can start at one end and run the client at the other end. They can measure TCP and UDP traffic with different packets sizes.
