things to consider?

i'm a linux newbie. i just installed a linux OS on my other computer and pretty soon i'm going to want to get in hooked up to the internet.

i'm planning on getting a cable broadband connection and i'm going to have to get a router because i'm sharing the connection with another user.

i was just wondering if there is anything special that a linux user needs to consider when selecting a router or other network hardware.

does the fact that i'm running linux warrant any special considerations?

sorry if this is too newbie-ish a question... thanks for the responses.

Any router will do fine with linux. Just do the configs the way you want the systems set. No big deal.
dhcp is quite an easy way to get an IP. If your router can dhcp, thats a good thing.
