The disappearing and appearing linux machine using Samba.
Why does my linux machine appear sometimes on Ms Network Neighborhood and somtimes it dose not?
I am using samba-2.2.5-10 RH8.0 Here is a copy from Samba Web Administration Tool , Viewpage of my smb.config: Current Config # Samba config file created using SWAT # from UNKNOWN (127.0.0.1) # Date: 2004/04/06 10:03:17 # Global parameters [global] workgroup = HOME1 netbios name = PEN2 interfaces = 192.168.0.3 guest account = ftp hosts allow = iwill [lin_book] comment = Linux bookmarks path = /home/me/bookmarks read only = No guest ok = Yes [ed] comment = ed's homedir path = /home/ed read only = No guest ok = Yes Why does samba say FROM UNKOWN (127.0.01) Here is a copy of my smbusers file: # Unix_name = SMB_name1 SMB_name2 ... root = administrator admin nobody = guest pcguest smbguest After adding users and group do I need to stop and restart anything??
