Exclamation Telnet problems

i have a problem telneting to my linux server. The problem is upon telneting and filling out the login and password, i was able to use like everyday activity. The problem is however, after using it for ferw days like this, the internet connection become down meaning i have somehow performed DoS(i think). The admin says that i have clogged the log files in the server which had caused the DoS(i think). My problem is how to oversome this in the future if I telnet again and dont want the admin to scold me if the problem still persist.and what is the name of the log files.
Pls help.
thanks in advance

If you get thrown out - log back in again and kill any processes you have running - including your last shell. I would also reccomend you start using ssh and not telnet for security but that may depend on your sysadmin installing an ssh server.
