Question telnet not work in Point to Point connected FC6 boxes


Hi!
I have install two linux boxes with Fedora core 6. I made point to point connection with IP addresses 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2. Ping command is working. But when telnet from either side. Error message is
Tempory failure in name resolution : Illegal seek connection closed by foreign host

Do you have telnet-server installed??? rpm -qa telnet-server

but of course you should be teaching that telnet is an extremely insecure protocol and should be avoided at all costs in favour of things such as ssh.

How true!! Totally agree!!!

But the OP is pretty safe, only looks like the OP is using it internally (192.168.X.X). But telnet over the Internet is not a good idea.
