Telnet

I'm using putty to telnet to my suse linux 10 box but telnet does not work. Is there something else I should configure in suse linux 10 to get this to work? The suse linux box is on the network.

As far as I know the telnet daemon is disabled by default in Suse. You'd have to enable it and start it on the Linux box first. Since you already have a putty client, why not use SSH on the Suse box?

Hello gilead,

Thanks for replying. I have tried ssh but after entering the username and password it comes up with access denied. Can you please guide me in enabling the telnet daemon. Thanks.
