System hangs when when another computer in the network shutdowns
Hey!
I´ve got a Home network with 2 computers. Both using Kubuntu 9.10. I have manually configured the network with nfs. I share some folders between the two computers. I´ve set up folder sharing with /etc/exports and /etc/fstab. The network disks have a local mount point in the /media folder.
Everything works OK, but the thing is that when I shutdown one of the computers in the network, the access to the filesystem of the other computer hangs. Therefore, I can´t access my disks unless I restart the computer.
I suspect that the solution might be in some mounting option I can add to the network disks in fstab.

Does anyone know the solution to this?
Yes...dismount the shared disks/volumes, before you do a shutdown.
So, there isn´t an automatic way for doing this? Cause in that case if one of the computers accidentally hangs, the whole network will hang too...
Is there another way of mounting the disks? A firend of mine told me that I could mount the disks through Samba shares without having a local mount point. That way, the file system does not hang, but there may be permission problems and other stuff...
