system freeze on large NFS transactions

here is how I mount the nfs:

Code:
portmap -t /tmp -g 99 -u 99
exportfs -av
mount -t nfsd -o nodev,noexec,nosuid nfsd /proc/fs/nfsd
rpc.mountd -p 2 -N 4 --no-tcp
rpc.statd -L -p 3 -o 4
rpc.nfsd -p 5 -N 4 -T 8
this is what the log looks like:
Code:
Dec 16 21:13:50 myhost portmap[1881]: connect from 127.0.0.1 to unset(100024): request from unprivileged port
Dec 16 21:13:50 myhost portmap[1881]: Couldn't create profile information file: Permission denied
Dec 16 13:13:58 myhost exportfs[1887]: /proc/fs/nfs/exports:1: unknown keyword "test-client-(rw"
Dec 16 13:13:58 myhost rpc.statd[1893]: Version 1.1.4 Starting
Dec 16 13:13:58 myhost rpc.statd[1893]: Flags:
Dec 16 13:14:05 myhost nfsd[1894]: nfssvc: Setting version failed: errno 16 (Device or resource busy)
and there is an another problem, whenever some machine tries to access the nfs shares on this server, the server freezes completely and has to be powered down and restarted

I got it going but there are still a few loose end to tie up

I updated nfs-utils to 1.2.7, disabled the distro nfs services and using the correct nfs services loading order.
but now I get the error:
Code:
getfh failed: Function not implemented
but lsmod shows the kernel module nfsd is there, so it's not like I don't have the kernel module...

update: fixed by reordering the programs, mountd had to be started after nfsd

now to testing the real problem: system freezes
