Syslog Client

Hello folks,

I've been searching without luck for a syslog client! Can you guys point me up to some simple syslog client which connects to a remote syslog daemon? (My setup is a Linux machine on which i'm going to run the syslog client to be able to retrieve logs sent from a syslog daemon residing in a Cisco server).

Thanks,
Ganni.

A syslog daemon accepts syslog requests and then logs them to the approriate physical log file. I'm not sure how you could get a client to "retrieve" the logs from a remote syslog daemon as it would have written them to log files ?

When you say you want to connect to a Cisco server, do you mean a router, or an actual server that is running syslog daemon software ?
