Switched ISP now interent isn't working...

Hello everyone.

I'm sick of using windows again and I would like to get back to using Linux. But as soon as I moved into my new apartment i'm unable to connect to the internet.

I am very noobish to Linux and now i'm rusty since I havn't had time to figure it out. I remember I had to screw around with my network config files awhile ago to get it working with my old ISP so that network file is probably filled with my old infomration thats why its not working I bet.

I'm not connected to a LAN or anything, i'm directly connecting to the internet through a cable modem. What would I need to do to connect to the internet? What files do you need to see on my system to better help me?

Thank you.

PS: i'm running Mandriva power pack 2006

I did the legwork for you.

http://www.tldp.org is a valuable resource. With some work on your part, the linux documentation project can be the springboard to learn about a lot of Linux projects, including connecting to the internet via a cable modem.
