Suse 9.3 as a gateway router for an SME server

I am fairly new to this. I am trying to set up my main computer as a gateway/router.

This is what I want.

From my Cable modem to my D-Link router from that to my main computer with Suse 9.3 then out from that to my SME Server. (I have two Ethernet cards on my main computer. One coming in from the router and one going out to the SME Server.)

Now I have no idea how to set Suse up as a Gateway and router while doing it securily. I want the SME server to be accessed both localy and from the Internet.

I will be using the Suse firewall as well as fire-starter. Bit defender for anti-virus and whatever else I can figure out for security. (I don't mind trying this with Linux but I would have never tried it when I was running Windows XP, lol.)

The SME Server will be http only, for now, (ftp locally)

Any suggestions, ideas, help or links anyone has would be great.

Edit: I am aware that the SME Server can be used as a gateway/router. But I would rather do it the way I mentioned above unless anyone has negative thoughts about that.

Thanks.

Go to -> http://www.linuxguruz.com/iptables/ and they will have a pre-made set of rules you can use.
They also have plenty of information to help you modify your firewall to meet your needs.

See also Shorwall, Freswan, etc.
