strange network connection timeout
 

I don't know if anyone has ever seen something like this, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask...

I connect to the console of our companies network device from telnet connection to a terminal server (see diagram below).

From my windows box I run ssh and VNC (not VNC over ssh, in addition to) sessions to the linux box, from the linux box I telnet to the console of the network device using the terminal server.

From time to time (i.e. intermittently ), when reload the network device the ssh session hangs and eventually times out. Additionally, any other ssh or VNC connections to the same Linux box will also timeout. If I wait and do not attempt to input into the hanging terminal, eventually everything will return to normal.

I have seen this multiple times, using different linux boxes in the above diagram.

Any one seen anything like this before?
