Strange HTTP issue

Well guys get this one:

I have a linux Mdk box on an internal network
I have a win2k box on the same network
The win2k box is running winproxy
there is a cable modem connected to the win2k box
from outside I can connect to ports 21 and 23 and 25 on linux box just fine
proxy works fine for all the above ports
Linux box is running apache web server
the website by IP works great on internal LAN

My Problem:

When trying to connect from the outside I get the error-"Connections to HTTP port 80 are being rejected"
When the win2k box is probed, port 80 is open?

Has anyone ever heard of a ISP or Cable company dropping or rejecting incoming port 80 requests on their network?

Or is the problem likely the win2k box and winproxy

I have gone through all the winproxy checkboxes and configured as best I can. Internal proxy http is port 8080.

Any help or suggestions would be great!!

Chris.

There are a lot of ISP's that block port 80 preventing people to run webservers on their cable connections. Most likely you are one of those unlucky people who has a bothersome ISP. There isn't much you can do about that besides complain.
What you could do though is run your webserver on another port and have a page somewhere on the internet redirect to your site with the other port.

most of the ISP's block port 80 ( i am not sure if that is to prevent people from running web servers) i think it is done to counter the virus attacks
