stopping and starting net


i want to stop my net and lan connection from the command line when i dont need it,,,,,,how to do that? and also how to start the lan n net again?

To bring an interface down:
Code:
/sbin/ifconfig eth0 down

for DHCP:
dhcpcd -k
To bring it up again:
Code:
/sbin/ifconfig eth0 up

for DHCP
dhcpcd eth0
