static local ip assignment???

Okey, this has probably been asked about a hundred times, but still no joy

Im running slackware with dhcp. And as I understand, I need to use ppp to assign a static !!local!! ip address. I want my linuxbox to have 10.0.0.2 because I cant nat my router otherwise. Any quick and easy and not painful way to do this???
