start vncserver.


mandriva10.0


i have to run the command everytime ..#vncserver.
to on the display at localhost:1

i want to exec command xserver when the computer starts.

[staff@localhost staff]$ vncserver

Warning: localhost:1 is taken because of /tmp/.X1-lock
Remove this file if there is no X server localhost:1

Warning: localhost:2 is taken because of /tmp/.X2-lock
Remove this file if there is no X server localhost:2

New 'X' desktop is localhost:7

Starting applications specified in /home/staff/.vnc/xstartup
Log file is /home/staff/.vnc/localhost:7.log

[staff@localhost staff]$

Hi


Once you start the X server , you don't need to restart it again . When it starts it creates a
xstartup file , /tmp/x-lock file and a passwd file . If you want to use the same terminal everytime you start your machine , before you shut down you must remove the lock files associated with that terminal ( in your case :1 ) and kill the vnc server so that when you restart your machine it can find the screen :1 is not being used and create it
