Unhappy sshd2 won't stay up

Sorry for all the posts lately guys...very new to this serer setup business.

I have setup and installed sshd2 with the static option, and created the keys etc..

here's what happens when I type sshd2:

SSH Secure Shell 3.1.0 (non-commercial version) on i686-pc-linux-gnu

then I try to login from localhost using:
ssh2 -l username localhost

it then says:
username's password: ( I enter it )
Authentication successful.
Last login: (blabla date time) from localhost
Linux 2.4.5

Press any key to exit.

Connection to localhost closed.

sshd2 still runs however, it just seems to kick the guy off right away...any idea?

Confused!
Alex

Arr

seems it's just the users from the groups that are chrooted that go through this....I guess I'll look for a FAQ on the net somewhere...

Pce.

There's a way to chroot ppl logging in with ssh, but you'll have to use *key* auth, not *passwd* auth, it involves tacking on a command to their key, should look like "chroot login <key>". Also, did you set up a complete chrooted env with the devices, libs and binaries?

I got past all these bigger problems, if you have a chance, I posted my final ssh setup question at:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...threadid=15162

Check it out if you have a chance.

Cheers,
Alex
