Question sshd not restarting on RHES Version 3

I'm using Red Hat Enterprise Version 3.

I'm trying to start my sshd service but I'm getting the following error:

sshd: /var/empty/sshd must be owned by root and not group or world-writable [FAILED]

The /var/empty/sshd directory is empty and when I do an LL on it I get:

dr-x------ 2 mysql root

Any suggestions?

Change the owner to root.
chown root /var/empty/sshd

That work! Thanks.

Do you have any idea why or how the ownership got changed?

I'm not sure why it would have been changed. I can only guess by accident.
