ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
I understand that the ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host usually means something is screwed up with the hosts.allow file and that you can find information in the system log files about the aborted connection.
But what if you get the ssh... message and there's nothing in the system log files to indicate that an attempt to connect was made?
We're using the 10. addresses locally (at work) so I assume there's some sort of ip masquerading going on but even so, wouldn't I still see the attempt on the remote box?
Thanks in advance
