Please remember, bypassing the firewall from your school, can get you in trouble.
They closed port 22 for a reason.
Are you allowed to run linux from usb on the school computer?
I would suggest to talk to the IT, to find a solution.
The setup at your school has its reasons.

When my friend tries to SSH to my server, it works. However from my school (with putty) it doesn't work. Probably the school network is secure.

Hi,

Even though you (the OP) are probably not happy about this, I am glad to read that the school admins know what they are doing!

Offcourse a network should be secure, however that doesn't mean, they have to block people from using it.
