SSH login ... access denied (suse 9.1)
 

Hi all,

if have a internet connected suse 9.1 pro system freshly installed on thursday ssh login as a user worked until friday. And now as i want to login with ssh after entering username and password only "access denied" replies.

Strange since i didnt change anything... at least not that i am aware of.

i tried to create a new user or login as root ... same result.

local console login works fine.

found answer myself ....

sshd_config file : PasswordAuthentication no ... command out (#) then it works !

stupid change in 9.1 !

so you commented that line out, took the # off?

I've got the same problem on a Debian SARGE !
 

If I comment out "PasswordAuthentication no" ... it works !
Explanations are well coming !
