squid question


I have installed squid on one of my linux machines, do I need to rebuild my squid with --ssl-enabled option so that my workstations can browse https?? or I don't need at all..

you don't need it at all no. what that option means is that you can terminate the ssl sessions on the squid box, and potentially reencrypt them afterwards to the client. this would enable things like content filtering on secure connections... by default ssl connections just pass right through unfiddledwith.
