Squid network config problom


I am setting up 2 squid proxy's on a network.

the network is 196.168.X.X

how do i set up the 2 squids as far as load balancing and how
do the host know which proxy to use?

For load balancing, you need to configure the boxes to use ICP. This is easy a well documented in the Squid config file itself. There's also an excellent Squid FAQ which also covers this.

There's three ways of telling the clients to use the proxy, in order of complexity from least to most:

1) Simply configure the browsers directly.
2) Use an "auto proxy" script
3) Set up transparent proxying.
