Squid Mangement


hi there

i been running squid +shorewall fw ,nicely on my home network which has 4 machines

now ,what can we do for maintaninece of squid
i do not want to empty the cache (as it is refreshed by squid.conf using Lru )

what do need to do to enhance the performance??

any suggestions????

to enhance squid's performance you can recompile squid with only what you need and you can optimize the configuration in your /etc/squid/squid.conf file... if you want you can post your squid.conf here and get some feedback on it...

i also recommend a dns daemon to speed things up somewhat:

thanx for the info
i have changed my internet sharing mech . now i am sharing it through masquerading using shorewall FW as i was geting more misses than hits

and that link that u postsd is same as the caching-nameserver package I suppose
