Unhappy squid fail to run after one week on smooth running on rh 8.0 server


i install the RH 8.0 AS A SERVER
i config the network settings and all
it was running perfectly for one week sudennly the squid fail and wont run again .
i reintall the RH 8.0 and re configure it and three days later the squid fail to run again eaven if i reboot the server .
eny idea what it may happen
is there eny mistake in my settings
this is the third time the server fail plz a hint is needed

what in the logs in /var/log/squid

what settings are you changing?

i sent the bug report to RHN.
and in your opinion what do you thing is best to use from the version 7.0 till the 8.1 suse .
and thx for replying

My opinion is RedHat 7.3 or Slackware 8.1

I have never had a problem with squid

ok thx david
still i have one heavy question
since longe time i was trying to run the cbq in my linux box and never succeed. i instaled all distros ip route , and still dont know to enable it .
i surfed all the links the howto , the surgeforce , etc .etc .and still lost in all these links , others members tried to help me and i am graitfull for them but maybe i couldint understand
i wiches if some one can explained to me step by step taking in consideration that i am a newbees and know nothink about linux technique . all what i want is to know how to configure and run the cbq + squid in a way i can chape the trafic of my network .

run

Code:
tc -d qdisc
if that gives an error you may need to start by rebuilding your kernel with support for QoS

if you see no error then you can follow this instruction and it should work
