Spamassassin and procmail

Hi all,

I have a mail server using Linux Mandrake 10.1. The server uses mbox style mailbox format (UW-IMAPD) and i have about 100 users. I have setup spam detection system and antivirus in the system. It works quite well. One thing confuses me. Do i need to setup .forward file? What is the purpose of this file. I haven't setup one and it works. Is there any problem later on would happen if I haven't.

Thanks in advance.

A .forward file is nothing more than forwards mail to another e-mail address that you stated. For example, if my .forward file contains: blah@yahoo.com, that means that mail sent to me will be forwarded to blah@yahoo.com. If you need forwarding, then place the .forward file in your home directory. If you don't have one, it doesn't hurt anything.

thanks dude. Now i got it. But usually it contains something like
Code:
| /usr/bin/procmail
This indicates that the mail will be forwarded to procmail to be processed. Many things can be done with .forward file. Thanks dude.
