Software - Image and patching'software pushing from server, free

Does anyone know of a solution, or solutions for being able to image computers over a network from the server to clients, and/or also easily pushing patches/software installations from the server to clients seamlessly?

Any help would be appreciated. I've found PING for images, but nothing yet for pushing out patches/software.

Pushing software to windows or linux is a huge plus.

For debian. you can set up a central server with your repository, containing just the deb's you want:

Similar is certainly true for SUckSE, RedHate and 2CentsOS

(no flaming, only kiddin' with da puns ... debian needs no puns, the name itself sounds like debile and I use that ;-)

For windows & Linux there is this:

But you should be getting those users off Windows, right? ;-)
