SNMP

Hi,
I would like to know the difference between secure user and unsecure user in snmp and why you need 2 users. My understanding is not very clear on this. Can someone please explain this to me?
Thanks

Your posts sound VERY much like homework questions. Have you tried to look this up? These are typically called "community strings", and (again, typically), are "public" and "private". One is read-only, the other is read-write.

As far as why you need two, that should be easy to figure out. Read-only can monitor the device...read-write can MODIFY it, reboot it, crash it, etc. Same as a 'regular' user in Linux and a root user.
