SMS - What's the best way to go.

Hey!

I have noticed that companies like Coke have text messaging number where you text message the number from the coke bottle and you get 500 credits.

I would like to look into having some SMS text functions on my website and I would not mind being able to send/recieve messages using my PHP scripts. Looking through the forums I saw suggestions for using a email-to-text gateway and a link to a PHP script. The email-to-text gateway is no good for me. But the PHP script looks interesting. Another post said I have to sign up for a service.

Anyone here have any experience with in this field? I am looking for inexpensive (free is best, I use linux after all). If anyone has used any SMS services for websites or such, let me know about your experiences.

I am currently running a website using Apache 2.something on a Linux maching managed by my Brother-in-law. My site is written using PHP/mySQL.

Thanks,

David

http://www.clickatell.com/brochure/pricing.php

I am currently looking at this one. It costs $0.06/message. Expensive, but not so bad.
