Unhappy smoothwall and modem problems

I have just finished installing smoothwall 0.9.9 on a P100 with 64MB RAM and 1G HHD.

My problem is that I am unable to connect to the internet thru it. I can bring up the browser interface, setup my dialup connection, but when I ask it to connect it starts initialising the modem then stops and re-starts again and just keeps attempting to dial as many times as I set the retry dial for.

Any ideas?????

P.S. my modem is an external 56K KTX modem.

cheers:smash:

Well im experiencing the same sort of problem as you, I have just installed smoothwall onto a 486 pentium 100 with 48mb Ram and 2gb hard disk.

I also can connect to the box via my browser but cannot connect to the internet. I am using a internal modem in the smoothwall box.

I have read that I can use that as the RED and I have 1 NIC as my green

If u have n e ideas please can you help

Thanks
