Angry smbmount ignores options

This is really weird

I have tried to get characters displayed right from a Samba server. But my options didn't really change anything. Now I have found out that smbmount just ignores what I write in the options (after -o). Like this:

smbmount //serv/pub pub/ -o sambaJustIgnoresThis,iocharset=iso8859-1

Why is this so?

I use Redhat 9.0.
