Dear Gurus,
I wish to get my hands dirty with Linux and Neworking, using VMWare 5.0 Workstation. I am thinking of having four virtual machines running with 32 Megs of RAM for each virtual machine. I don't need X-Windows. Which distro would have a small footprint, and would come with the following:
I know every distro comes with these. But I want a small footprint distra, and if possible a LiveCD or something where installation is a snap. Don't ask me stuff, just do it, kind of installation. After all I have a virtual enviroment, so nothing can go wrong. Any suggestions?
yes there is a package installer, the second CD is Xwindows stuff so you don't need it. yes it will run on 32mb of RAM. the size is entirely up to you, during the install you can pick specific packages.
I am looking for a Linux Distro that does not come with X. I can't afford to download large Linux Distros as my ISP charges me dearly with my bandwidth. Infact my ADSL Plan allows for only 400 MB bandwidth per month (it cost me $35/month), and any thing beyond that I have to pay $0.20/MB. What's worst is that, sometimes ISO gets corrupt, and you never know about it until you are half way through the install. So I really really need a Linux distro that's only around 100MB.
