Slackware 10.1 Samba Help


I'm on Slackware 10.1 and I've looked for how to get Samba up and running and a working SMB4K, I test my samba and it shows its working?! and SMB4k trys to load and then dies out. And I'm having problems with getting Lisa daemon to start so I can lan:/


So if anyone knows of a good tutorial on how to get done what I'm needing, please let tell me.

I just want to Browse my LAN. and have two winBoxes and two LinBoxs.

Once you have your /etc/samba/smb.conf setup and your users added with smb.passwd, (or take the easy way out and download webmin from webmin.com), then go to /etc/rc.d and chmod 755 rc.samba

Also, you can browse your windows clients with the konqueor browser without samba by using the:

smb://share

style url

Hi

Once u r done with smb.conf (make sure the workgrou is same) then simply convert any of ur current user in to samba user, by follwoing command

smbpasswd -a (ur-user)

and c that ur smb services are working, if it gives u any error in return kindly post the error, so that we can diagnose it
