siproxd - fail to register a SIP phone

Hi,
I have installed siproxd - a SIP proxy/registrar server on my Debian system. When SIP phones attempt to register to this server, it answers to the REGISTER requests with a reply of: 408 - Request Timeout.
Does anyone know what causes the server not to accept the registration requests?

Thanks in advance,
Moshe
