Simple (?) NIS problem

Hi,
Working on setting up a new NIS master. Everything works fine under RH Ent. 4, ypserv-2.13-14, except that if I do a:

# cd /var/yp
# make hosts

results in:

/var/yp/hosts.byaddr
/var/yp/hosts.byname

not:

/var/yp/domain/hosts.byaddr
/var/yp/domain/hosts.byname

This is broken and I know very little about Makefiles, so I am at a loss. Incidentally, if you simple isssue a "make" without specifying a target, any maps that get built are deposited in the correct place (/var/yp/domain/).

Anyone know whats up? Is this expected behavior?
DW
