Silicom U2E usb ethernet adapter

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get this adapter working on debian 6.0.4.
This is the only solution for me because the integrated nic is not working anymore and the system doesn't have any pci slots. (it's a compaq ipaq)

During installation I get the request to provide a driver and based on this post - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...kaweth-157188/ - I tried those drivers by unpacking them on a thumbdrive but with no success.
I also tried the emebedded kaweth driver but that doesn't work either.

If I continue without a driver, the device is somehow recognized since lsusb shows the silicom u2e device.
Does this mean that it is recognized afterwards?

Any help to get this working is highly appreciated!
TIA
P

EDIT: I also found this info http://www.cs.fsu.edu/~baker/devices...t/usb/kaweth.c and it contains references for the silicom u2e adapter on line 158.
Any idea if this is somehow useable?
