Exclamation siemens se361 wlan - slow speed over wireless

here is the problem:
i have: 1 desktop pc running windows xp, 1 laptop dualboot slackware 12.1/ vista ultimate 1 router siemens se361 wlan and the modem that came up from my internet provider (UPC romania). My internet speed provided is at 10Mbps (about 1 - 1.1 Mb/s). I configured the router as they say in the userguide and after that connected the two computers in LAN. Now, desktop pc (wire connected to the router)works good, and the internet speed speed is as expected (@ 10 mbps). at the same time, the laptop -on wireless connection- (if it runs vista)works also good and the internet speed is also good (wireless not encripted and set to 54Mbps and/or 11Mbps). The problem is when I run slackware on laptop: the internet speed is slow and when I say slow that means it takes about 30 seconds to open Google search page. I did a test after all, connected with slackware at another access point (wich belongs to a neighbour) and even if the connection was only at 1Mbps the speed was good enough and Google page was loaded in notime. On the other hand, using my access point (siemens) with slackware, i can download from ftp sites at 500-600 Kb/s wich is a good speed considering that the 10Mbps provided by the ISP is not guaranteed and the transfer rate between desktop pc and laptop with slackware is at maximum of 1.7 Mb/s.
so my question is: where is the problem? if it is the siemens settings then why do i get good speed on vista? if it's the slackware settings then why do i get good speed from other access points?

thanks in advance for any of your help

p.s. laptop is hp compaq 6715s with broadcom wireless card bcm 4312. tried all the things described above, using first ndiswrapper and then the b43 driver. results are the same.
p.p.s. now I am about 99% sure that the problem is on slackware. today (20.12.2008)I just opened the laptop running kubuntu from a memory stick, connected to my wireless access point and the internet speed is at maximum (10mbps)and navigating on the web works like a charm.

Solved: changed siemens with a dlink!
