Well, first I set up Samba and had it running. Then all I did was go to Win XP's My Network Places and clicked on the "setup a home or office network" wizard. Filled in my info and it searched for the Linux machine. I'm not sure how to do it on other versions of Windows.

Ok, but how would you share specific folders? And assign passwords to them...as you can tell I was very used to Windows.

how you do it is to read the samba manpage (and smb.conf manpage) and the documentation at samba.org and come back as and when you have a problem that can not be ansered by those documents
